Delivering the keynote address at the sixth graduation day ceremony of Yenepoya Medical and Dental College at Deralakatte near here, Dr. Chandrashekara said they should serve patients with sincerity and dedication. The Chairman of the Islamic Academy of Education, Y. Abdulla Kunhi, who presided over the function, advised the graduates to adopt a humanitarian approach while dealing with patients and not always take a monetary or business-like approach. He promised them that their alma mater would help in their future endeavours. The outgoing graduates expressed their gratitude to the management for the encouragement and support given to them during their stay on the campus. In all, 83 BDS graduates and 12 postgraduates received their graduation degree certificates. Ganesh Shenoy Panchmal, senior faculty, administered the oath to the graduates and postgraduates. Rinu P. was declared the best outgoing student and received the Y.M.K. gold medal. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, chief guest, gave away the certificates. The principal, B.H. Sripathi Rao, welcomed the gathering. Ismail, intern representative, proposed a vote of thanks. B.S.A. Kumar, Vice-Chairman, and P.C.M. Kunhi, Director (Academics and Administration), were present.
