Top militant killed

Srinagar Jan. 8. Five militants, including a self-styled district commander of the Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM) were killed in separate encounters with security forces in Kashmir Valley since last night, a police spokesman said here today.

The TuM commander, a Pakistani identified as Abu Talha, was killed in an eight-hour gun-battle with the Army at Gondipora village in Badgam district of central Kashmir early today. — PTI
