Builder shot at in North Delhi

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI JAN. 8 . A 34-year-old builder was shot at by a friend-turned-foe and his accomplices outside his shop in the Civil Lines area of North Delhi today.

According to the police, Bacchu Singh, a resident of Old Chandrawal in Civil Lines, was sitting outside his shop -- Chowdhary Builders -- in Old Chandrawal when four persons in a white Maruti car approached him around 1-30 p.m.

Two men seated on the rear seat rolled down the window and summoned Bacchu. When he walked up to them, the one sitting on the front seat opened fire at him.

One of the bullets hit Bacchu in his right chest while the pellets of the second bullet got embedded in his shoulder and other parts of the body. As Bacchu collapsed, the assailants fled from the spot.

Bacchu was taken to Trauma Centre where his condition was reported to be stable.

One of the assailants has been identified as Devender. He earlier used to work with Bacchu Singh but had fallen out due to some business disputes.

Devender has been involved in at least eight criminal cases reported from Haryana and Delhi.
