Letters to the Editor
Sir, You have rightly said in your Editorial `Unconcealed aggression' (Jan. 8) that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad's renewed campaign for going ahead with the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya is a frontal challenge to governmental authority, the Constitution and the rule of law. This is not the first time that the VHP is talking of going ahead with the temple construction and asking for the transfer of the "undisputed" land to it. We need not attach much importance to what the Singhals or Togadias say.
M.C. Joshi,
Sir, It is not new for the VHP and its sister organisations to raise the Ram temple issue every now and then. The `Trishul Diksha march' is one in the latest of its stunts. Its latest salvo should at best be ignored.
M.D. Ravikanth,
Sir, The construction of the Ram temple is a challenge for the Vajpayee Government on the political as well as economic fronts. Any major development on the issue will disrupt peace, turning away the multinationals from investing in India.
Zebah Singh Alfred,
