Letters to the Editor
Sir, This is in response to the letter by N.R. Priya about putting a mark on infants after administering pulse polio drops (Jan. 8). Gentian Violet and not indelible ink is being used to mark the fingers of children. It is a harmless solution even when swallowed and that is precisely why it is used. In fact, it is a drug used in many ulcerative disorders of the mouth.
