A four-door sedan, initially the 147 bhp petrol variant of the Vectra will only be sold but the company hopes to introduce a diesel engine variant in the next few months. Aditya Vij, President and Managing Director, GMI, said the company's offering was technologically the most sophisticated in its segment. "We have closed the year 2002 registering a growth of 7 per cent over 2001 despite the market being sluggish,'' said Mr. Vij adding that in 2002 the Corsa registered a growth of 22 per cent over 2001 when the segment had grown only 7 per cent,''Mr. Vij added. The company hopes to sell 1,000 units of the Vectra in the first year and sell a total of 12,000 cars (including all offerings) in the current year.
