Big win for WAP

BANGALORE Jan. 9. Wheel & Axle Plant polished off its league campaign in the 49th inter-Railway cricket tournament with a nine-wicket win over Railway Board here today.

WAP's victory put the side in the quarterfinals where it will meet Metro Rail, Kolkatta in a 90-overs a side match spread over two days on January 12 & 13.

The tournament resumes on January 12 with quarterfinal action after a two-day break.

Brief scores: Railway Board 136 in 40 overs (Sanjay Singh 50 n.o, Vinay Kumar three for nine, Nagaraj three for 37) lost to WAP 140 for in 14.5 overs (Rakshan Rai 67 n.o, Mukesh 56 n.o).
