Speaking at the social welfare residential school in Sambepalle, she recalled that `Velugu' was introduced in six districts initially and said that the remaining districts were included in the second phase and residential schools being established for ensuring education among children of poorer sections. Thirty-nine mandals in Cuddapah district were included under the scheme, she added. The Minister for Housing, P. Ramasubba Reddy, inaugurated a Velugu residential school and said people were keen on holding Janmabhoomi gram sabhas in every village. The programme was not only creating awareness among people, but also benefiting the DWCRA and self-help groups, he said. Several grievances were being redressed in gram sabhas and some at the district-level, he stated. The Ministers gave away house-site pattas to 70 SCs and 110 backward class persons. The Rayachoti MLA, S. Palakondarayudu, and district TDP president, K. Sivananda Reddy, said Velugu was aimed at uplifting the poor and added that Janmabhoomi was benefiting people at large. The Velugu projector, Vijayendira, Cuddapah RDO, M. Venkateswara Rao, ZPTC and MPTC members also participated.
Collector opens school
The Collector, Jayesh Ranjan, inaugurated a bridge school under Velugu in Telugu Ganga colony in Badvel and said the schools would brighten the future of children of poorer, weaker and downtrodden sections as well as dropouts. Stating that 7,785 students were not going to schools in
