Bellary gets new STD code

BELLARY Jan. 9. The STD code for Bellary will change from 11 p.m. on January 18, Venkateshwar Rao, General Manager, BSNL, Bellary Telecom District, has said.

The new STD code for Bellary will be 08392 (old code is 0839). The following are the new STD codes for taluk headquarters in Bellary Telecom District with effect from 11 p.m. on January 18: Kudligi 08391, Kurgodu 08393, Hospet 08394, Sandur 08395, Sirguppa 08396, Hagari Bommanahalli 08397, Harpanahalli 08398, and Huvinahadagali 08399.

Mr. Venkateshwar Rao said about 4,000 cell phones (1,350 post-paid and 2,700 pre-paid) were allotted to subscribers, and the demand was on the rise for the former.

Suresh Krishna, Deputy General Manager, said the construction of a customer centre, adjacent to the BSNL office here, would be completed in a couple of months.
