Sources said that the State Director-General of Police, A.K. Suri would present a list of detenus to the panel for its approval. The Committee was constituted on December 20 by the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Government. In the first phase, most of the high profile prisoners were released by the State Government as part of its policy decision not to keep a person under detention after he had been acquitted or granted bail by court. The PDP vice-president, Mehbooba Mufti, has announced that the process of releasing innocent youths would be resumed in 11 days.
