Violence in Godhra

AHMEDABAD JAN. 14. Members of two communities clashed in sensitive Godhra town and the Dariapur locality of Ahmedabad during the kite festival today, forcing police to burst teargas shells to disperse mobs indulging in stone-throwing.

Four persons were injured in the clashes in Ahmedabad. Mobs set afire an autorickshaw at Godhra this evening following clashes between groups belonging to two communities. In Ahmedabad, mobs hurled petrol bombs and stones after skirmishes over kite flying in Mahajanwad and Dabgarwaad localities. Tension gripped the violence-hit areas.
