Prithvi launch report denied

NEW DELHI JAN. 16. The Defence Ministry today denied as "totally baseless and unfounded" a TV news channel report that the launch of a Prithvi missile today was unsuccessful as the launcher caught fire.

"There was no scheduled launch of any of the variants of Prithvi by either the DRDO or by the Army from the Interim Test Range at Balasore or any other test range'', a Ministry release said.
