The TDP president and Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied by his wife, Bhuvaneswari, Cabinet colleagues including T. Devender Goud, T. Srinivas Yadav, J.R. Pushparaj and K. Vijayarama Rao and other senior party leaders paid floral tributes to the departed leader at the colourfully decorated NTR Ghat. The Chief Minister also participated in an all-religion prayer. The Chief Minister distributed sewing machines to 10 residents of Shantinagar Leprosy Colony on the occasion. The machines were distributed under the auspices of the All-India NTR Fans Association headed by the Sanatnagar MLA, Sripati Rajeshwar. However, Mr. Naidu who appeared to be unhappy with the tardy pace of development of NTR Ghat asked HUDA officials to submit a report on the progress of works at the memorial on a monthly basis. "It is more than five years since the construction had come up, but the pace of development is not on the expected lines,'' Mr. Naidu told the officials. Earlier, the Speaker, K. Pratibha Bharati visited the venue and paid rich tributes to the former Chief Minister. NT Rama Rao's film actor son, N Harikrishna, the NTR-TDP (LP) president, N. Lakshmi Parvati, and others also paid their homage to the TDP founder. In addition, members of a delegation from Haryana headed by its Revenue, Housing and Town Planning Minister Choudary Dhirpal Singh who visited the venue also paid their tributes to NTR.
