COLOMBO. JAN. 24. The next round of peace talks between Colombo and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) will be held in Berlin between February 7 and 8, sources close to the peace process told The Hindu. The inability of the LTTE's chief negotiator, Anton S. Balasingham, to meet the LTTE leadership has been cited as the reason for cutting down the four-day talks to two days. An impasse between the two sides on de-escalation in the Jaffna peninsula has stalled the progress of the peace talks.
