Releasing a list of spurious drugs with batch numbers which included Erythrocin tablest (batch no. 75- 497,501), Cifran(58945), Althrocin (B.No. 803140 U) at a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Reddy said 3 per cent of the 4,000 samples of various companies checked were found to be sub-standard and directed the companies concerned to suspend production of the drugs. Though all the drugs were not spurious, the public should have knowledge about how to identify genuine and spurious/sub-standard drugs, he said. The genuineness of the drug could be assessed by the company's holograms and the packing. He said "Ozomen'' that was once seized in the past was found again in raids on a drug store in Visakhapatnam on Friday. He sought public cooperation to weed out spurious and sub-standard drugs from the market.
