Nepal police chief shot

Kathmandu Jan. 26. The Nepal's armed police force chief, Krishna Mohan Shrestha, his wife and a bodyguard were shot dead today by suspected Maoists in the suburbs of Kathmandu while taking a morning walk, officials said.

Mr. Shrestha, his wife, Nudup, and a policeman guarding them were attacked near their residence at Bagdol-Sanepa area while taking a stroll at around 7.30 a.m., an official at the Prime Minister's office said. — PTI
