Letters to the Editor
Sir, The decision of the oil sector trade unions to threaten a strike at the privatisation schedule announced by the Disinvestment Minister, Arun Shourie, reflects the short-sightedness of our industrial sector, consisting of those who are unwilling to face risks and challenges that a liberalisation scheme offers. They tend to forget that along with these risks comes the promise of progress of our long-stagnated economy. These ``crusaders'' of the public sector are only reflecting their vested interests in opposing the Government's forward moves towards privatisation and development. Prem Paul Ninan, Bangalore
