Sir, The decision by the self-financing engineering colleges to boycott the time-tested single window system for engineering admission in Tamil Nadu is retrograde. This would cause considerable hardship to candidates who apply for admission to multiple colleges and appear for many entrance tests. The decision to lower the eligibility requirement to a mere pass in the plus two examination makes a mockery of modern engineering education. S. Kannan, Chennai
