The Hindu National Essay Contest

Why was the Mahatma attacked and killed? And how does that great legacy of his live on amongst us?...

On the 55th anniversary of Gandhiji's martyrdom (January 30, 2003), The Hindu is pleased to announce a national essay contest for young people titled: "Why did Gandhi die?"

A jury of eminent persons will choose the final winners.
