BJP to release list today

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI JAN. 29. The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party which met at the Prime Minister's residence today finalised the list of party candidates for the Himachal Pradesh and Tripura Assembly elections as well as candidates for by-elections in several States.

However, with a few more names remaining to be cleared for Himachal Pradesh, the party has decided to release the list of candidates tomorrow as the party president, Venkaiah Naidu, got involved in discussions with the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister on changes made in the Government and the party.

What is certain is that the BJP will contest all the 68 seats in Himachal Pradesh on its own and that the present Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal, will be once again projected as the party's Chief Ministerial candidate.
