U.K. ensemble to perform in city

BANGALORE FEB. 1. The music ensemble from the Royal Air Force College Cranwell will entertain visitors to the U.K. Pavillion at "Aero India 2003" to commence here soon.

It will perform at Friends of Camphill on Monday, and at Cheshire Homes on February 10.

Cheshire Homes was opened in 1960, and is run by a committee headed by Air Marshall Dey. It is a home for physically handicapped women and children from poor families. Details may be had from V.M.Das (OBE), Secretary, Cheshire Homes India, Bangalore Unit, HAL Road, Bangalore 17, or on ph: 5266970.

The Friends of Camphill India Residential Community with adults with mental disabilities was opened in March 1999. It supports mentally disabled people, and its activities are based on the principles of the Camphill Movement.

The house in Bangalore has 12 disabled persons. Karl Koenig, a paediatrician from Vienna, established the first Camphill Community in 1939 in Scotland. Details may be had from the Secretary, Verena Ravikumar, on ph: 7828571, 5097681.
