Krishna yet to get Minister's resignation

By Our Special Correspondent

BANGALORE FEB. 1. The Minister of State for Cooperation, Diwakar Babu, has not submitted his resignation to the Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, according to sources in the Chief Minister's office. It was reported that the Minister had forwarded his resignation letter to the AICC President, Sonia Gandhi.

The sources clarified that the Chief Minister would accept Mr. Babu's resignation and forward it to the Governor if he indicated that he did not want to continue as a Minister.

Mr. Krishna was, apparently, upset by the action of the Minister.

According to sources close to the Minister, his decision to submit his resignation to the AICC President directly was because he was "disenchanted" with the style of functioning of the Krishna Government.

The Minister was "disillusioned", as promises made to the people of Bellary District were not fulfilled.
