Police have identified the accused as Moses (30) of Wilson Garden and Ramesh (45) of Bommanahalli, the van driver. The accused allegedly stole the machines from Sushi Garments in Subramanyapura police station limits 15 days ago. They gained entry into the company premises by breaking open the locks. They were nabbed by police on night patrol when they were allegedly trying to sell the machines.
Arrested for burglary
Cottonpet police have arrested a man who allegedly burgled his mother's house. Jewellery worth Rs. 50,000 has been recovered from him. The accused has been identified as Babu Seth alias Babu (28). He was arrested on the basis of a complaint from Noorjahan of Old Pension Mohalla, Cottonpet, that her house was burgled on January 25, when she was away. During the investigation, police found that Babu burgled the house when his mother had gone to her daughter's residence.
Pumpsets seized
D.G. Halli police have arrested two persons for theft and recovered 10 stolen water pumpsets worth Rs. 30,000. Police have identified the accused as Mohammed Ansar (40) of Anwar Layout, and Gafoor (19) of Rashadnagar. Police said the accused stole the pumpsets from N.P. Factory in D.G. Halli police station limits.
`Chain snatchers' held
Kumaraswamy Layout police have arrested two 20-year-old youths who allegedly snatched chains from women. Two gold chains worth Rs. 30,000 have been recovered. Police have identified the accused as Akram Pasha of Someshwaranagar, Siddapura, and Fayaz Khan of Sarabadepalya, Kumaraswamy Layout. According to police, the accused used to follow women and snatch their gold chains. With the arrest, cases reported from Basavanagudi and J.P. Nagar have been solved, police claim.
3 nabbed for theft
Rajagopalanagar police have arrested three persons who allegedly stole centring sheets, and recovered stolen sheets worth Rs. 20,000. The names of the accused given by the police are Rama alias Lakshmana (20) of Rajagopalanagar, Gangadhar (26) of Peenya Second Stage, and Venkatesh (18) of Rajarajeshwarinagar. Besides recovering 50 centring sheets stolen from the sites of buildings under construction in G.K.W. Layout and Peenya Industrial Estate, police have recovered an autorickshaw allegedly used to transport the sheets.
Stolen jewellery found
J.P. Nagar police have arrested a youth for theft and recovered a moped and jewellery worth Rs. 40,000. The accused has been identified as Anthony alias Tony (25) of Ragigudda Jopadi, J.P. Nagar Second Stage. He was arrested by the night patrol police near the J.P. Nagar `mini forest' on Friday. The accused had been convicted and sentenced for theft earlier in several cases, according to police. The articles recovered were stolen from Mico Layout and Hebbagodi police station limits.
