20 killed in Lagos blast

LAGOS Feb. 2. An explosion ripped open the front of a four-storey bank in central Lagos this morning, killing at least 20 persons, witnesses and rescue workers said.

Television reports said 50 bodies had been recovered from the scene of the blast. Local television said a bomb caused the blast, which resounded across Lagos at around 1530 hrs IST, ripping off the front of the Prudent Bank building.
