Train accident averted

By Our Staff Reporter

ANANTAPUR FEB. 6. A major train accident was averted by an alert keyman on Thursday evening when he noticed that about 10 mm rail was cut between Mudigubba and Chinnaguttapalli stations on the Guntakal-Pakala metre gauge line.

The keyman immediately informed the higher railway authorities who, in turn, complained to the police.

The Tirupati-Guntakal Venktadri Express was halted at Mudigubba station. It was not immediately known whether the cut was due to sabotage or not. Investigation is on.
