BDR tries to push in people again

COOCH BEHAR (WEST BENGAL) FEB. 8. The Bangladesh Rifles today twice tried to push in people from their side into Cooch Behar in West Bengal.

The district magistrate, Chandan Sinha, said the BDR first tried to push in 150 persons near border pillar no. 886 in the afternoon, but failed after the Border Security Force resisted. Again, at 3 p.m., it tried to push 400 persons into Indian territory, near the Chotomadhusudan BSF border outpost.

They went back when the BSF resisted.

The BSF has rushed reinforcements to the area, he added. Panchayats have been asked to maintain vigil. — PTI
