COLOMBO. FEB. 8. The fifth session of the talks between Colombo and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) ended in Berlin today with the two sides tiding over yet another round on a public note of optimism. Friday's suicide explosion had provided the setting for yet another shaky start to this round which was shifted to Berlin from Thailand. The explosion, which killed three Sea Tigers off Jaffna peninsula, posed a challenge to the two sides. Against this backdrop, the conclusion of this session was an indication that the two sides "are not allowing these incidents to destroy the peace process,'' the Norwegian special envoy, Erik Solheim, told The Hindu over telephone from Berlin. talks, he said, had touched upon several issues, including the sensitive ones of child recruitment by the LTTE and human rights.
