Four arrested, 13 stolen two-wheelers seized

BANGALORE FEB. 8. Kalasipalyam police claim that they have solved 13 cases of two-wheeler thefts by arresting four persons, who were allegedly stealing and selling vehicles by creating fake documents.

Police have recovered 13 two-wheelers, including motorcycles, scooters, and mopeds, worth Rs. 5.5 lakh, which were stolen from parking lots in Malleswaram, Chamarajpet, Upparpet, Shankarapuram, City Railway Station, Hanumanthnagar, Yeshwantpur, Kalasipalyam, and City Market police station limits.

Police say Narsimha Murthy (26) of Hanumanthnagar, and Manjunath (33) of T. Dasarahalli allegedly stole the vehicles using fake keys. Shashidhar (31) of T. Dasarahalli printed fake registration certificates, and Joseph (57) of Jalahalli prepared fake rubber stamps of the Jayanagar RTO, according to police.

The Hoysala squad chased and nabbed Narasimha Murthy and Manjunath after they allegedly stole a two-wheeler from Kalasipalyam and rode away on the vehicle on February 3.

2 killed in mishaps

Two people were killed in road accidents here on Friday.

Varadarajachari (46) of 75th Cross, Kumaraswamy Layout, who was injured when a tractor hit him near his house at around 2 p.m., died on the way to hospital. Police have seized the tractor and launched a search for its driver.

In another accident, Shanthaiah (42) of HMT Colony, who was injured when a lorry hit his bicycle near Kuvempu Circle in Jalahalli police station limits at around 1 p.m., died at a private hospital in the evening. Police have arrested the lorry driver and seized the vehicle.

`Chain snatchers' held

MICO Layout police have arrested Chinnappa alias Ravi of Sriramapuram, and A. Suresh Babu ( both 23) of K.P. Agrahara on the charge of chain snatching, and recovered three gold chains from them.

Five arrested

Nandini Layout police have arrested five people who were allegedly filling LPG from domestic cylinders to "auto-kit cylinders" and selling them to autorickshaw drivers. Police have seized 12 LPG cylinders, five auto-kit cylinders, and gas filling equipment from the accused.

Youth ends life

Jayasingh (25), a native Rajastan, committed suicide by consuming insecticide at the KSRTC bus terminus in Upparpet police station limits on Friday night. The reason for the suicide is not known, police said.

Man falls to death

A man aged 28 years died when he fell from a building on 35th Cross, 1st Phase, J.P. Nagar, in the early hours of Saturday. He has not been identified. J.P. Nagar police have registered a case.
