Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to the article, `India, the U.S. and Iraq' by K.K. Katyal (Feb. 10). As rightly pointed out, India has a lesser chance to influence the U.S., but given the fact that India would be `hit hard' in case of a war, there should have been a firm opposition from the Indian side. Iraq, once a strong supporter of India on Kashmir and the main source of our oil imports, deserves India's full support in its efforts to retain freedom and national integrity against aggressive forces. It is pathetic that the Indian leadership has been reluctant to come out with a creative stand on the issue.
