VS flays police policy

By Our Staff Reporter

PATHANAMTHITTA Feb. 10. The Leader of the Opposition, V.S. Achuthanandan, has alleged that the double-standard being followed by the State police towards LDF workers and RSS-

BJP activists in different parts of the State is a clear testimony to the unholy nexus between the ruling UDF and the Sangh Parivar outfits.

Mr. Achuthanandan was inaugurating an LDF rally in Thiruvalla this afternoon, organised in protest against the alleged police indifference towards the investigation of cases in connection with RSS-BJP attacks in different parts of the district over the past few weeks.

The Opposition leader alleged that the Chief Minister, A.K. Antony, appeared to have chalked out a `negative' police policy in gratitude to the `favours' received from the Sangh Parivar and the BJP during the last Assembly elections.

He said the LDF would oppose the Sangh Parivar using temple premises for martial arts training.

The CPI State assistant secretary, Pannyan Raveendran, the Kerala Congress(J) leader, P.J. Joseph, the Janata Dal general secretary, Varghese George, Nanu, MLA, the RSP leader, T.J. Chandrachoodan, the CPI district secretary M. Sukumara Pillai, and the CPI(M) district secretary, K. Ananthagopan, spoke.
