Act impartially, Ramadoss tells Speaker

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI FEB. 10. The PMK founder, S. Ramadoss, today urged the Speaker, K. Kalimuthu, to act impartially in the conduct of Assembly proceedings.

In a statement, he said the Speaker could not expect Opposition members to behave like the treasury benches which cheered every government move.

Noting that the Speaker had criticised Opposition members at a government function, he said it was against democratic norms and political decency. "Can the Speaker point out any instance of the Opposition, including the PMK, wrongly criticising the Government?"
