Taneja shocks Joshi

HYDERABAD FEB. 10. Varun Taneja of Delhi recorded the first, major upset shocking former national champion, Devendra Joshi, in his final league encounter for a 73-56, 67-53, 65-26, 60-6 in the National billiards and snooker selection tournament being held at Jubilee Hills International Centre here today.

In a late night match yesterday, Devendra Joshi defeated B. Bhaskar 4-0. However, both of them had earlier qualified to represent India in the Asian billiards championshpi to be held in Myanmar alongwith reigning champion, Ashok Shandilya.
