Letters to the Editor
Sir, This is with reference to your Editorial, `Undermining the rule of law' (Feb. 11). The BJP Government's cat is finally out of the bag. Thanks to the pseudo-secularism and selfish power-mongering of the so-called secular allies, the BJP is on the route to successful pursuance of its agenda of communalism. Instead of maintaining the rule of law, the Vajpayee Government has resorted to a political gimmick by asking the Supreme Court to vacate the stay on the undisputed land in Ayodhya. When the title suit is pending before the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court and a verdict is expected within a year or so, the Central Government's latest move aims at removing the stay. The NDA partners should prevent the undermining of the rule of law and preserve the spirit of secularism.
K. Malikul Azeez,
