Petition on nabbing Veerappan dismissed

NEW DELHI FEB. 11. The Delhi High Court today disposed of a public interest litigation seeking directions to the Union Government, the Karnataka Government and the Tamil Nadu Government to take concrete steps to arrest the forest brigand, Veerappan.

A Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice Dalveer Bhandari and Justice S. K. Aggarwal disposed of the petition filed by K. G. Dhananjayan Chauhan after the Additional Solicitor-General, K. K. Sud, submitted that the Government had taken all necessary steps to catch Veerappan, and counsel for the two State Governments submitted their respective action taken reports to arrest the sandalwood smuggler.
