Train to stop at Dhanuvachapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Feb. 11. The Thiruvananthapuram MP, V.S. Sivakumar, has said that he had received an assurance from the Railway Ministry to sanction a stop for the Bangalore- Kanyakumari Island Express train at Dhanuvachapuram.

A pressnote quoting the MP said the Railway Minister had also agreed to a proposal to extend the platform at Dhanuvachapuram station by 45 m to the Thiruvananthapuram side. The work is expected to be completed by March 31, he said.

Mr. Sivakumar said the work on the crossing station at Parassala had commenced.

The MP submitted a memorandum to the Railway Minister proposing the construction of a new railway overbridge at the Melarannoor level cross and conversion of the Nemom station to a crossing station.
