Numeric's sustained growth

CHENNAI. FEB. 12. Numeric Power Systems has retained its No. 1 position in the on-line UPS manufacturer category for the eighth time. Addressing presspersons here today, R. Chellappan, Managing Director of the company, said in an all-India ranking of power electronic and UPS manufacturing companies, the rating was assigned by Softdisk - India (a journal of Association of Computer Professionals).

He said the company had come out with digital high performance range of UP systems to address a wide range of critical applications in banks, insurance, healthcare, and process industries. The digital HP series augmented the existing range of 0 to 100 kVA range of Numeric online UPS systems, Mr. Chellappan said. The company had a 15 per cent market share in the Rs. 800 crore online UPS segment.

The company was setting up a unit in Sri Lanka to cover the Mauritius and Vietnamese markets, he said.

According to Don Fair, the company's director from the U.S., the technology tie-up with Numeric Technologies inc. of the U.S. had enabled the Indian company to offer a wide variety of microprocessor controlled digital high performance UPS systems and Numeric was all set to launch a full range of digital technology UPS systems.
