India pulls out of SAF Games

NEW DELHI FEB. 15. India today decided not to participate in the SAF Games, scheduled to be held in Islamabad from March 29 to April 7. The decision, External Affairs Ministry sources said, was in keeping with India's hard-line stand on cross-border terrorism. There was, however, no move to interfere with India's scheduled cricket match in the World Cup against Pakistan on March 1.

Preparations were already afoot to field a 300-plus Indian contingent in the Games while Pakistan had sent across competition handbooks and other documents for follow-up action by the Indian Olympic Association.
