'No place for casteist forces'

By Our Staff Reporter

Pondicherry Feb. 15. The Pondicherry PCC president, V. Narayanasamy, today said stern action would be taken against perpetrators of violence.

Addressing reporters here, Mr. Narayanasamy said of late some outfits and organisations were trying to divide people on caste and communal lines in Pondicherry. The Government would not let such forces to develop roots anywhere in the Union Territory.

The Government was not sidelining the BCs or the MBCs as alleged by former Agriculture Minister and CPI national council member, R. Viswanathan. The State BC Commission had identified nine castes to be included under the Most Backward class group. The list had been sent to the Centre.
