Wrong drug: 206 children in hospital

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Feb. 19. As many as 206 children were admitted to the SAT Hospital and General Hospital after they developed giddiness reportedly due to the administration of a wrong drug at the Government Primary Health Centre, Kalliyoor, on the suburbs of the city, here today.

The children, in the age group of one-and-a-half months to 14 years, developed shivering and giddiness and were shifted to the hospital in the evening. According to hospital sources, the condition of all the children in the hospital is stable.

The hospital sources said the children were administered insulin instead of Hepatitis vaccine at the PHC.
