IA, AI staff call off strike

NEW DELHI FEB. 19. Employees of Air India, Indian Airlines and private and foreign carriers today called off their threat of not allowing a single flight to take off tomorrow, after the Finance Minister, Jaswant Singh, gave in to their demand and waived income tax on free passage that the staff are entitled to.
