`Unprecedented development in state'

By Our Staff Correspondent

SHIMLA FEB. 20. The Union Minister for Urban Development, Ananth Kumar, hit the campaign trail here today, claiming that unprecedented development had taken place in Himachal Pradesh in the past five years of BJP rule.

Talking to reporters, he said that at the national level too the NDA Government had also helped in accelerating the pace of development in this State. ``The NDA Government has efficiently dealt with the problem of terrorism and punished the guilty, be it the extremists behind the December 13 attack on Parliament who were killed or be it the militants of Akshardham who have been arrested under POTA,'' he said, adding "Even America has so far failed in punishing the terrorists of the September 11 attack on World Trade Center.''

He said the Congress which was itself involved in scandals like Bofors had no right now to talk about corruption.
