World Cup
Cashing in on the cricket fever, many hotels, restaurants and multiplexes in Ahmedabad city have introduced several new features to attract customers. Free tickets to South Africa, free screening, autographed bats and heavy discounts were just some of the incentives that cricket fans were offered, especially on days when India's matches are scheduled. A leading hotel has put up a 20 ft high bat where visitors can pen their wishes and remarks for the national team that would be handed over to the team in South Africa. Another hotel has named dishes after prominent players, naming Mushroom and Capsicum Pizza as `Sachin's Drive' and Masala french fries as `Murali's flipper'. Waiters dressed as cricketers add to the attraction at these places.
