JAMMU FEB. 21. The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, was among the 14 candidates, five of them from the National Conference, who filed their nomination papers today for eight seats in the Legislative Council, for which the election is scheduled for March 4.

Accompanied by his ministerial colleagues and party workers, the Mufti filed his nomination before the Returning Officer, Mohammad Iqbal Ganai. After taking over as Chief Minister on November 2 last, he has to get elected to any of the two Houses within six months.
