Ooty season from April 14

Udhagamandalam Feb. 23. With the curtain on the 2003 Udhagamandalam racing season scheduled to go up on April 14, the high altitude racecourse in the heart of the town is already a beehive of activity.

In all there will be 28 days of racing. About 600 horses are expected to be in station.

The fixture:

April 14, 15, 18, 22, 23, 29 (Usha Stud Nilgiris Fillies Trial Stakes) and April 30.

May 2 (Nilgiris Colts Trial Stakes), 5, 7, 10, 11 (South India Corporation Nilgiris Derby Stakes), 14, 15, 17, 18 (Nilgiris Gold Cup), 20, 21, 24, 25, 28, 30 and 31.

June 4, 7, 8, 14 and 15.
