Inflation rises to 5.04 pc

New Delhi Feb. 23. The annual rate of inflation continued to move upward for the fourth consecutive week, touching this fiscal's highest of 5.04 per cent up 0.18 per cent, during the week ended February 8 due to higher prices of medicines, fish-marine products, texturised yarns and raw cotton.

The inflation rate stood at 4.86 per cent during the previous week. The rate for the week ended February 8 was higher by a whopping 3.8 per cent at 1.2 per cent during the corresponding period last year.
