Tamil Nadu
By Our Legal Correspondent
When the petition came up for hearing, the petitioner's counsel produced a copy of the order passed by the Cauvery Tribunal asking the Kerala Government not to do anything that would make the Tamil Nadu's application infructuous. The Bench, comprising Justice Ruma Pal and Justice B.N. Srikrishna, pointed out that the Tamil Nadu Government, which was the aggrieved party, had not filed any petition complaining that the Tribunal's order had not been complied with, and hence, it was dismissing the writ petition. On Friday last, the Bench had dismissed another writ petition filed by the Federation of the All Farmers Associations on the ground that it was bereft of details and moreover the petitioner was yet to receive any reply from the Prime Minister in this regard.
