SAIL expects higher export turnover
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI
FEB. 24.
With stepped up marketing efforts, the Steel Authority of India Limited is expecting Rs. 1,000 crores this year as its export turnover from the four integrated steel plants.
The export sales volume is expected to go up by 45 per cent in 2002-03 over the last year and in terms of tonnage, more than eight lakh tonnes of steel is likely to be sold overseas.
The higher export performance is expected despite anti-dumping duty imposed by the U.S., Canada and European countries against Indian steel.
