The BHPV national employees union said that the demand for revision of wages which was agreed to in October, 2001 was pending approval of the government which should be cleared at the earliest. They also said that BHPV which is a pioneer engineering industry and known for its quality and sophisticated equipment production should be provided with work orders on nominated basis from the Defence and other public sector undertakings. In order to mitigate the financial problems, the employees suggested that the government give budgetary support to the BHPV.
