The fishermen were arrested for illegal entry into Pakistani waters in the Arabian Sea. The fishermen went home after a ceremony aboard the PNS Nazim, Coast Guard ship. A.K. Sharma, First Secretary at the Indian Embassy was present. There are still 145 more Indian fishermen in a Karachi jail. The Pakistan Foreign Office said that 70 Pakistani fishermen have been detained in India and hoped that New Delhi would reciprocate the humanitarian gesture.
