Letters to the Editor
Sir, This is in response to the letters of L.S. Vishwanath and Alok Srivastava (Feb. 17). I found Rahul De's article, "Which Mrs. Iyer?" (Feb. 8) presenting a perfect blend of humanism and practicality. It is evident from the following lines: "Nowadays, it is difficult to use words such as `secularism', `tolerance' and `human rights' as these have been carefully and deliberately poisoned by the Sangh Parivar... We have to calculate the worth of supporting our fellow citizens and we have to couch our emotional states in the language of market analysis and economics". I think such an approach should not only be appreciated, but also saluted.
Farheen Fatima,
